Physiotherapist-led program to learn safe, proper post-partum recovery.

With this 8 week program you can improve core strength, and increase your flexibility and cardiovascular fitness. This once a week program is designed to get your fitness lifestyle on track.

No babysitting required as you can bring baby along!

Small groups - for lots of one-on-one guidance


Strength training is combined with cardio for a time-efficient and very effective workout. Working against gravity, elastic bands, and sometimes by lifting baby, you will strengthen all the important muscles you need in motherhood (ie. ALL of them).Walking, speed walking, movement drills and static holds will get your heart pumping!

Improve your fitness and have fun with baby!and meet other Moms too!


 

Complete assessments before and after the program ensure that your specific needs are addressed.Ideal for any Moms wanting to get back in shape safely, especially those with back pain or other health concerns.

Included in the Moms of Steel program:

  • complete assessment pre- and post-program by professional physiotherapist
    • musculoskeletal assessment, gait and posture analysis, flexibility, strength and body fat measurements as goal setting.
  • exercise elastics
  • Physio-Active socks
  • a Physio-Active Lifestyle log book to track progress

 

Specifics of each class:

  • First 15 minutes is "Mother Goose" warm-up and information about the day's topic.
  • The next 30 to 40 minutes is cardio training in the park and on the pathways.
  • The final 20 to 30 minutes is core strengthening, flexibility, cool-down, and playtime!

Rainy Day Policy: we go rain or shine! But if it's absolutely terrible, we will plan to go the following day, same time, or add a class to the end of the session.

Where:

All classes will be held outside, starting from Baker Park, Calgary NW. Map.

What to bring:

a yoga mat or blanket, running shoes, comfortable clothes, stroller and necessary clothes/snacks for baby.

 

Fees- Spring Session: once/week class, 75 minutes each!)

  • 7 professionally guided classes plus complete pre and post assessments, socks, logbook, elastics: $160
  • $10 discount if you have a friend also register!

Check your extended health benefits plan for Physiotherapy coverage. Class fees are considered Physiotherapy treatment by most insurers.
